The Creole Institute serves as a major center for materials on Haitian Creole. The Institute sponsors research on French-based creoles, particularly Haitian Creole and Louisiana Creole. The Institute also performs a variety of public service activities, through the provision of language learning materials for Haitian Creole and the maintenance of the Creole Institute's reading room.
