The study of animal behavior naturally crosses boundaries between Biology, Psychology, Neural Science, Anthropology and other disciplines. The Center's primary goal is to foster the integrative study of animal behavior by facilitating interaction among members of these and other departments at Indiana University. CISAB's current research priorities include sex differences in behavior, the relationship between physiology and the evolution of behavior, the genetic and cultural transmission of behavior, developmental changes in behavior and ethoinformatics. The Center is also dedicated to education, administering an internationally-recognized academic Program in Animal Behavior and bringing prominent scholars from other institutions for public guest lectures. Additionally, the Center provides ethics training for students, sponsors local, regional, and national conferences, workshops and symposia, and administers the NSF-funded Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program, providing research opportunities for students underrepresented in science.
