CREC is an information clearinghouse established to help teachers, parents, and students gain access to educational materials on reading, writing, grammar, journalism, speech, theater, and the language arts in general. The clearinghouse maintains a large website and a database from a wide variety of journals and other sources. The contents of the database, now numbering approximately 1,100,000 records, are then used in the production of research summaries and syntheses. The clearinghouse website www.reading.indiana.edu contains extensive summaries related to the fields mentioned above.
