The IPFW Archaeological Survey performs research, education, and cultural resource management projects across Indiana, the Great Lakes, and the Ohio Valley. The Survey's professional staff assists museums, local historical societies, and other groups in the investigation, documentation, and interpretation of cultural resources. Its commitment to public education includes presenting research papers at professional meetings, preparation of articles for publication, public lectures, and electronic publication of major reports. The Survey also serves as a repository of archaeological data. It houses collections of documents and artifacts from its own projects as well as materials acquired by other groups in the course of projects required by the state and/or federal governments.
