The Osgood Laboratory was established to continue the cross-cultural research program initially developed by Professor Charles E. Osgood, an internationally-known psychologist, former president of the American Psychological Association, and member of the National Academy of Sciences. The research program involves the measurement of psychological meanings of some 50 aspects of human life experience, including both abstract domains such as morality, values, and symbolism; and concrete domains such as food, natural environment, and seasons.
