CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
OBJECTIVES
- The Distinguished Faculty Research Lecture, co-sponsored by the Office of the Provost and the Office of the Vice Provost for Research, is an annual event designed to recognize the research achievements of an IU Bloomington faculty member whose research makes important contributions to society.
AWARD
- Inaugurated in 1980, the Distinguished Faculty Research Lecture is a campuswide celebration, accompanied by a $3,000 stipend to support the lecturer's continuing research. The recipient will deliver their lecture in March or April 2010.
CONDITIONS
- Applicants can either be self nominated or nominated by another individual.
ELIGIBILITY
- This award is for IU Bloomington only.
- Nominees should have a current appointment to the university (regrettably, emeritus faculty are ineligible).
DEADLINE
- September 30, 2009
HOW TO APPLY
- To make a nomination, please send a brief memo (address below) outlining reasons for your recommendation and a copy of your nominee's curriculum vitae. The selection committee strives to select an awardee who will deliver an excellent and generally accessible research-oriented lecture. If possible, please indicate the kind of topic and message that will likely be presented by your nominee. This question often arises during the selection process.
